ONE WISE MAN

Okay, you don't have to be a writer to appreciate Ray Bradbury's advice on life. Sure he's a bit cocky, but maybe he has a right to be?? He inspires me so much and on so many levels. Plus check out this really excellent first line from Fahrenheit 451:

"It was a pleasure to burn."

-Ray Bradbury

  2. Irene,
I did not keep a journal...the memory of that day is so inbedded in me, I will never forget. It is the same with our son's adoption..which I will do next!!

  3. Irene,

My sweet friend! I, too, received a very special package in my mailbox today. I resisted opening it until I could sit down and enjoy the process, and I must tell you that I savored every second of it. I devoured all of your beautiful poems within an hour, and I am now looking forward to reading them again, more slowly. I am in awe of your ability to convey so much beauty, love, pain, and redemption with your words. You paint the most amazing pictures with your pen in hand. I found myself choked up, holding my breath, smiling and contemplating, all at different moments throughout the book. Beautiful, compelling and haunting are all words that I would use to describe your poetry. I have a couple of favorites, but I am sure that that might change as I read and reread them again.

I truly loved the inscription and the little package of tea that you added to make this gift even more special. Thank you, dear heart, for sharing your book of poetry with me. I know that it will be sitting next to me on my night stand for a very long time to come. You are a kind and generous soul.

    With thanks and big hugs,
    Debbie

  4. So glad you got the books! It's so strange -- when I first started writing, I didn't show my poems to anyone. Then I started thinking about how writing is at its most basic, a form of communication. So it doesn't make sense to just keep what you write in a drawer! You've got to put it out there for the world to see! And I've got to tell you, that's really the best part. (As I am sure you know from your experience with blogging.) It really is all about connecting with other human beings and sharing this experience we call life.
Thanks SO MUCH for sharing my experience and giving my book such great homes. :)
