A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE

So I'm a few days from the deadline for my revision, and I'm to that point where my brain is so saturated I can hardly see straight.

Here's the thought I keep coming back to: Every thing we do, every single word we write matters. And if you've ever lived in Alabama or spent any time in the deep south, then you will especially appreciate today's quote.

"If you think you're too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room."

- Anita Roddick

  1. Oh Irene, I really feel for you! The stress of a brain which feels like it just cannot do another thing, can be a huge problem. Maybe you should take a mini-vacation from your revision. Do something else for a while. Something totally frivolous and unplanned. Maybe that will free up some room for the new words to be able to flow. Word by word, you will get things accomplished. I have lots of faith in you, friend!

Yes, I agree that none of the guys on The Bachelorette really wowed me. I thought the first guy who walked up was very cute, but she didn't seem to pay any attention to him. She kept saying how she was the luckiest girl in the world, and I kept thinking, honey, you have no idea! Lucky is living an actual life with the man who swept you off your feet! Like you, it made me think about how lucky I am to have the husband and children that I do! So many of those guys were JERKS! Yuck. She is adorable, and I hope she doesn't just force herself to think that she is in love with one of them, just so she can have her "fairytale ending".

I saw Shaye and Matt on Ellen last week and they seemed happy. There is just something about her...Hopefully it will last.

Okay, I've distracted you for long enough. Go find something mindless to do!

    Hugs and love,
    Debbie
