13 Women I Admire

Hello and Welcome to Spiritual Journey Thursday! Today we are talking about Julianne's One Little Word "ADMIRE." Please join us!

I am traveling today, but I did want to share a few thoughts about "admire." For me it is linked with love, being present, experiencing wonder.

Here's a quote I love:

"What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life? The world would split open." - Muriel Rukeyser

The following woman are some I deeply admire, though I know them only through their books. Each has told the truth about her lives, and it has split ME open, and it inspires me to approach the world with the same kind of courage and honesty:

  1. Irene-many of the same women have split me open as well. I would also add Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, Maria Shriver (for her Architects of Change), and Elizabeth Gilbert. We're fortunate to have many strong women to look to. Thanks for the reminder! xo

  2. I like your quote and your list, Irene! It's lovely to stop and feel grateful for people we admire. I would add Mary Oliver and JK Rowling on my list.

  3. I had the honor of meeting Madeline L'Engle years ago. I heard her speak about writing and stone pillows. I loved her imagery in her speech. The other women on your list are also ones I admire. Thanks for sharing your inspiration.
