Hello and Happy Poetry Friday! Be sure to visit Karen Edmisten for Roundup. I'm away from my desk, having some birthday adventures... and possibly a new First to add to my 50 Firsts!
In case you missed it, here's my homemade-by-me everything-for-free book trailer for D-39: A ROBODOG'S JOURNEY! This was my first time to make a book trailer. I hope you like it! And I hope it makes you want to read the book. :)
My poem today uses rhyme and musical language to talk about snow. (Just 3 more weeks of winter poems. I am SO READY for spring!) Thank you so much for reading. Snow Song
when adagio
of snow
serenades
the meadow
partridges
forgo
grass-bowl
hollows
to flush
hope
from pianissimo
crop-rows

I can't wait for D-39, Irene, sounds like a great adventure. The trailer is terrific; good for you for creating! And we just had a big snow so I love your snow poem, the music included! Birds are everywhere today, but it was very quiet during the storm! Happy Birthday! Hope you celebrate all the weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhy yes, the trailer does make me want to read the book. Hooray! I'm glad you are this stage of promo. Great job on the trailer. The music of snow....so, so, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWonderful trailer-leaves you in suspense… and wanting your book! I'm ready for spring too, though I do like all the soft lyrical sounds in your snow poem. Happy Birthday Weekend Irene!
ReplyDeleteI love the music of snow, the adagio. And how the partridges flush hope. Such music.
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for the trailer! And for another Fabulous First! And for "pianissimo/crop-rows" (do my iris and poppy sprouts count?)!
ReplyDeleteThe trailer is fabulous! I shared it with my class this week and they were riveted! We're all so excited to read it. Your "Snow Song" is wonderful. I love how the partridges "flush hope" and how you weave music in so deftly.
ReplyDeleteI love the music woven into your poem.
ReplyDeleteYour trailer is terrific! Well done. And "Snow Song" is lyrical and lovely. It almost makes me want more snow, but ... no. :) I, too, am so ready for spring. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the beautifully unhurried, melodic rhyme in your poem, Irene...it reads like falling snow. Congrats on the new book, too - the trailer is intriguing!
ReplyDeleteOh, and happy birthday!!
