12 Days of Kindness: MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hello and welcome to the Christmas 2015 Edition of POETRY FRIDAY ROUNDUP! Please add your link below.

Here at Live Your Poem, we've been celebrating the season with 12 Days of Kindness. Each day I've been posting a quote on kindness that speaks to me. The fun part has been pairing the quote with images! Instead of asking you to click and click and click, you will find all the images here (plus a couple of extras!). Enjoy!

... and here are some oldie-but-goodie Christmas poems I've written:

And now for Roundup! Please leave your links below. Merry Christmas!

  1. Thank you for hosting PF...for welcoming us into your family Christmas celebration. Thank you, too, for the gift of the 12 Days of Kindness compilation. (I was hoping for such a photo-review!) Thank you for the 12th day quote from Rabbi Kushner. His "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" was a great consolation following the death-by-truck of one of our neighborhood children. God bless you and thank you for all the ways you have brightened Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with your gracious kindness. Every blessing to you and your loved ones! p.s. I look forward to more music videos from your talented son!

    1. Your words about Eric's work are so appreciated -- he IS a poet, and I will send you the lyrics. Thank you!! I read to him your comments, and he was thrilled. And yes, Kushner's book is really special. Blessings to you as well, and grace and light!

  3. Hi, Irene. Merry Christmas! I love Audrey Hepburn's quote. What a life of kindness she led.

We're having a very canine Christmas. Sam and Rudy are asking for the upcoming MG novel, FENWAY AND HATTIE, narrated in the voice of a rambunctious Jack Russell terrier. I'm pairing the book with the poem "The Dog Speaks" by Michael Salcman. http://authoramok.blogspot.com/2015/12/lauras-bookshelf-fenway-and-hattie.html

  6. Irene, thanks for hosting on Christmas Day. I love the kindness quotes. The one by Mark Twain strikes especially close to home; in the past month, two people I know have been killed in horrible car accidents. This week I'm featuring PAPER HEARTS, a novel in verse about teenage girls who band together to save each others' lives during the Holocaust. http://carolwscorner.blogspot.com/2015/12/poetry-friday-paper-hearts.html

  18. I love all the poems in THE COLOR OF LOST ROOMS.
"I can not fix this," as the narrator says in "Love Poem With Christmas Lights," is a truth I need to keep close by me.

And your wispy, blinking tree! A true natural beauty accented perfectly with the cascade of paper chains.

Merry Christmastime to kind you, dear Irene.
You have made many hearts glow with this post.
