To make things even more fun, leave a comment by midnight, Sunday, Aug. 1st to win one of these two really awesome poetry books. I've read both of these more than once. And come on, in this day and age, that's saying something!! Even if you don't win, DON'T MISS THESE BOOKS. They're awesome.

  2. I am sorry, Irene. I posted the wrong post! Today I have my 10th poem in a series of Poetry Friday poems about poetry. It's at
    Happy PF, everyone!

  3. Ooh, I've been wanting Borrowed Names for a few months. I'd love to be entered in your giveaway. Thanks so much,
    Mary Ann

  4. Thanks for hosting--and for the great giveaways. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  5. Hi Irene,

Today I'm celebrating National Blueberry Month with a poem by Diane Lockward:

    Thanks for hosting today! :)

  6. Irene, thank you for hosting, and for your sweet comments on Borrowed Names, and the giveaway! You're too much. I'm not entering, just thanking: I'm going to look for Three Rivers Rising!

  7. Hi Irene,
I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying Leaving Gee's Bend. After reading the first 90 pages yesterday I am in love with Ludelphia. You and I share the love of literature and quilting. If I could write half as good as you someday...Bravo ~ a great first novel!

Oops, sorry I posted the first time with a link to your page.

  8. Oooo! How fun! I love a giveaway. And, thanks for the roundup. I'm bookmarking this for road trip reading this weekend.

  9. Thanks for hosting, Irene. I've won a book recently so I won't enter again for now, but I'm realizing that I missed somehow your Gee's Bend book! I don't know that I'll ever make a quilt again, but the Gee's Bend quilters have certainly inspired a new appreciation for imprecise beauty in quilts and otherwheres. Looking forward to it!

  10. Thanks for doing this giveaway Irene!

I just gave Borrowed Names to my mom, can't wait to read it myself!
