WHAT'S YOUR NORTH STAR?

--from A DOG'S WAY HOME by Bobbie Pyron:

"Most folks got a north star in their life - something that gives their life extra meaning. Mine is music."

"Without even thinking, I said, "Mine is Tam."

If you haven't read the book, Tam is a dog.

Man, I love dog stories. And horse stories. And really any-kind-of-animal stories.

And yes, I have a north star.

Do you?

  1. It's a lovely thing to ponder, Irene. I know already that it's my family, close & far. There are close in the past and then now in the present that guide me. Thank you for helping me to know, again.

I've got to think hard about my North Star ... can you have more than one?? (maybe that's my problem!!!)

  3. Have you read these dog books? A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron, The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein and One Good Dog by Susan Wilson? I read up on my dog books for my WIP featuring a mystical dog.

  4. I know Irene has read this book because I loaned it to her but y'all need to read
A Three Dog Life by Abigail Thomas

as for North Stars... well my Granny was and will always be my North Star... and my Mama
but if I had to chose one today it would me my husband... even when I try to get off course... and I kick and scream when he put me back on course... he never lets me down. He's not always right... not even half the time but where I'm concern he just knows what it right for me.
