Hello, and welcome to
the final poem of ARTSPEAK!, my Poem-a-Day Project for National Poetry Month 2015, in which I am writing from images found in the online collections of the
National Gallery of Art and focusing on dialogue, conversations,
what does the piece say?
WOW! We made it!!!
Today's piece is "Young Girl Reading" by Jean-Honore Fragonard.
Isn't she gorgeous?! She's a far more put-together wee me. :) What is the book, I wonder?? And would would the book say to her?
Congratulations, Irene!!!!! Yay!
ReplyDeleteLovely ending, of the poem and the month, no better way than to have a book's words.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Thanks for this wonderful month of poems!
ReplyDeleteI've loved following along this month. Perfect ending for this journey! Thanks for the fun.
ReplyDeleteLove this! A month well spent!
ReplyDeleteAh, from the book's point of view - clever & creative!
ReplyDeleteI love all the words but if I were in your critque group, because of the period of Fragonard's lovely painting, I would reconsider "scan," with today's added weight to the word. I have sent this portrait in a postcard to friends, maybe a collection of postcards of women reading. I love her rapt attention. But I love even more that you have given voice to the book. Inventive & memorable.
What fun it would be to guess the book's title? I like your question.
This ARTSPEAK series is a good gallery to return to for visits, Irene.
This is so cozy, so perfect. I love that generous soul of a book. xx
ReplyDeleteAn intimate look at the reader and her book. The feeling that authors have when someone loves their work.
