"May Promenade" poem

Hello and Happy Poetry Friday! Be sure to visit Margaret at Reflections on the Teche for Roundup.

I am out adventuring! I did (of course) make time to write a new ArtSpeak: FOUR SEASONS poem... though in my poem, it's May instead of June! (Where did May go?!) Thank you so much for reading!

May Promenade

parasols
              pop

kites kiss
clouds

sun shatters
afternoon

as dusty streets
puff
               praise

sudden
downpour

           of boots

  3. Love this poem, which seems to reflect your adventuring. Beautiful images: "parasols pop", "kites kiss", and I love the "sudden downpour of boots" Have a great summer!

  4. Sudden downpour of boots. That was our Main Street today. Rain, rain...I'll take it as long as I can relax into summer.

  5. I wish I know where May went -- haven't a clue! All those wonderful actions on a sunny, sunny afternoon. It's all so cheerful. I would love it all...especially if it involved some siesta time.

  8. Love the picture, hoping for those promenading that it's not too hot! Love that you have that 'puff' of dust in your poem, 'a downpour of boots' I'm guessing on a Sunday! Hope you're having fun wherever it takes you!

  12. "dusty streets puff praise"--with each step, muddy or dusty, promenading is walking meditation!
