Today's piece is "Woman with a Yellow Jacket" by August Macke. I decided my focus would be on the young girl (daughter?) beside the woman in the yellow jacket... at first I thought she was shy, and then I remembered this is to be a happy poem... and so I flipped it to be about anticipation of what's inside that door. (What's happier than anticipation?)
Anticipation

into the sun

I think I've written about 'anticipation' more than once, Irene, always the happiest of thoughts. This is a lovely ressponse to the painting, 'melting into the sun'!
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy painting! Your poem makes me wonder what's beyond the open door. Then I was off to explore other paintings by August Mackie and that was quite a rabbit hole.
