Yellow Irises

wide-awake blooms
dutifully shine
across brightest hours

but when evening comes
they grab handfuls
of purple sky –

a surprise gift
for the next butterfly
who happens by

  4. Another new painting for me. Love "wide awake blooms..." A lovely way to introduce these yellow irises.
